Mission
The mission of Soccer Synergy is to improve student-athlete and team performance by training both the body and the mind. This is accomplished through focus on plyometrics, speed, power, and agility training, in conjunction with developing self-coaching, self-reflection, and personal-motivation concepts.
Soccer Speed Training
Ever ask yourself why the other player always seems to be a little faster or why the other team always seems to win the big game? Soccer Synergy is designed to answer both of these questions by preparing you physically and mentally for when it counts. Although many teams
have conditioning sessions, not all clubs focus on teaching the proper technical concepts of speed and agility, and very few address the mental preparation needed for success at high levels. This is not a workout program - we use proven and specific techniques (foot speed, balance, quick movements, and endurance)
and specialized equipment from Speed Quest and Bill Beswick's Focused For Soccer to make you faster, stronger, less prone to injury, smarter, and a better soccer player. Participants in our indoor training have seen more than 10% increases in speed and jumping ability, with an overall nearly 6% gain across all performance standards!

Motivating the Champion
Participants will learn the art of self-coaching through a program specific to Alaska, Motivating the Champion, designed by Dan Pinkerton, M.Ed. The concept of self-coaching stems from the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team and is used by quality collegiate programs such as the University of North Carolina. To self-coach simply means to envision that you are a coach trying to get you, as a player, to be the best you can be. This includes knowing how to organize your time to achieve peak performance, setting personal goals and working on self-concept to increase confidence. Participants practice self-evaluation to include recovery from injuries, what to do when you lose, and reflect on strengths and weakness as a player.
Team Retreats
The purpose of team retreats is to develop team character and continuity. Custom-designed retreats based on a coach evaluation of the team needs takes place through day seminars or overnight stays. Retreats incorporate team building activities, goal-setting sessions, personal and team reflection, and overcoming obstacles impeding team success. The process involves pre- and post-evaluation as well as seasonal reviews when requested. The retreats are designed to help train the coach as well as the players. We do this by teaching the coach how to incorporate the concepts of the whole-player into regular practices without taking away from the technical, tactical needs of their team and individual player development.
